No introduction required in Barcelona as they blew the roof off Apolo back in 2006. They are getting better with age and their new album which is short listed for Ireland’s two most prestigious awards this year contains some of their best music yet. Nobody has taken Irish traditional music and fused it with everything out there quite like this collective of supremely talented musicians. Unmissable!

Kíla nominated for Meteor Awards 2008
Kíla’s new album Gamblers’ Ballet was paid another tribute from the music industry with its nomination for Ireland’s Choice Music Prize last night. The shortlist, nominated by a panel of 12 music journalists, lists the top ten albums released by Irish artists during the year. The prize will be announced at a live event in Dublin’s Vicar St, on 27th February 2008.
The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight those albums which deserve some extra time in the spotlight and, ultimately, to select the album which best sums up the year in Irish music.
Instead of using sales or airplay as criteria, the Choice Music Prize judges focus, simply and solely, on the music’ www.choicemusicprize.com
This latest accolade follows on from their nomination for this year’s Meteor Awards in the best folk/trad category; Kíla’s seventh year running to be nominated for the award. The Meteor Awards will be held in the RDS, February 15th 2008 http://meteormusicawards.meteor.ie/index.aspx
